I have company on my journey.
They have stayed gently with me
Through every step
Acknowledged or denied, they surround me.

I can feel them in my peaceful moments
Moments of calm creativity
Their voices, pure soaring beauty
Harmonizing my life.

I dance seamlessly, gracefully, endlessly
In their world. Flowing, melding, expanding
My voice wordless, infinitely expressive
I melt into freedom and acceptance.

One day they came to me,
Suddenly more present than I can describe.
They lifted me on wings of light
The freedom, too much to contain, escaped as tears.

We floated gently, peacefully, encompassing all
Suddenly, wrenchingly, I remembered who I am supposed to be.
I cried out in agony. "I MAY NOT FLY!"
Admonishments timeless, keep your feet on the ground.

All my life, my wings kept clipped
"Look to your feet, never dream"
I must stay grounded
Firm in proclaimed reality

These beautiful beings wrapped me in love.
Quietly enveloped me in joy.
And smiled to my soul, "Look down,
You'll never see more ground than now"
