Could potential global disaster, create a true global economy?

Reality is a mater of focus, as in what ever you focus on in any given moment is what is real for you at that time.  I can only speak for myself, but I tend to spend more time with my focus in the physical, than I do in the broader aspects of "all that is".  I find that acknowledging "where I am at"  is useful in that it encourages me to be practical.  With all this talk about the environment, I find that many of the answers, while perfectly valid, are coming from a level, where most of us do not currently exist most of the time.  I live on this planet at this time, and changes to this planet affect me.

My personality in this reality tends towards bright-sides, simply because on a practical level, I have observed that people with a positive mind set tend to achieve positive things (and vice versa).  So I was pondering the bright-side of the current and predicted state of the environment, and I came up with something kind of interesting.......

The environment is really showing us, with no real "get out of jail free cards" that we ARE one people.  The actions of America affect the people of Australia, etc etc etc, the actions of each individual affects the life of every other individual.  Maybe, just maybe, this whole situation could be the starting point of us learning a very, very valuable lesson, that will seriously change the way we interact in astonishingly positive ways.
